Abstract

Over the years, the world economy had been facing fierce competition in both developed and developing countries. In order to promote long term economic advance and prosperity, consistent growth in trade was necessary. Utilization of the international markets was essential along with the implementation of the structural change in the economy. Given that Canada has had a strong resource sector, specialization in the highly-skilled manufacturing industry which requires sufficient resources and technologies was considered suitable for the country. It is important to be open to continuous adaptation in regards to economic development strategies instead of being stagnated with outdated structures.
