Abstract

Post-secondary institutions can prove vital to the creation of thriving city centres. This article talks to three leading post-secondary schools in the outskirts of Toronto to get fascinating insights on the topic of universities as city-builders. Continued growth is evident in the ongoing population explosion in and around Canada’s largest city, fuelling strong public interest in both academic and recreational space; the incredible rise in foreign students, as well as an enormous increase in adult education driven by new-economy needs.
